The Grounds & Gardens
The remarkable 18th century landscaping of the Park, its vistas and lakes, are by an unknown hand - much has recently been restored. The celebrated gardens are of great variety with fine old cedars and specimen trees.

The formal and wild gardens surrounding and adjacent to the house have been mainly developed during the present century and these developments have continued to the present day. A number of distinguished landscape designers have been involved - Robert Weir Schultz, Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe and Dame Sylvia Crowe. The main inspiration came from the late Hon. Lady Macdonald-Buchanan. The present owner's parents have endeavoured to continue these developments. The most recent projects have been led by garden designers, James Alexander Sinclair and Angela Collins. Find out more about their projects at Cottesbrooke here.
