Cottesbrooke is a wonderful Queen Anne house dating from 1702, set in delightful award winning gardens in rural Northamptonshire. Reputed to be the pattern for Jane Austen's 'Mansfield Park', the Hall's beauty is matched by the magnificence of the gardens and views as well as the renowned picture, furniture and porcelain collections. The Hall is privately owned and is lived in every day and you will, therefore visit a genuine family home. The contents of Cottesbrooke Hall include much excellent 18th century English as well as French furniture. Fine English, continental and Chinese porcelain is displayed, particularly in the Dining Room, Drawing Room, Library and China Corridor. However, the chief distinction of the house is the superb collection of Sporting Pictures evident throughout and known as the Woolavington Collection. | ||
